Feb. 10, 2014 at 10:47 AM   |   Comments

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Martin Fourcade of France won the Olympic gold medal Monday in the biathlon pursuit.

Ondrej Moravec of the Czech Republic took the silver and the bronze went to Jean Guillaume Beatrix of France.

Ole Einar Bjorndalen of Norway missed three of the 20 targets during the four shooting phases and that cost him a medal. He finished fourth.

Bjorndalen needs one more medal to become the most decorated athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics. He has two relay opportunities remaining in these Olympics and Norway will be favored in both of them.
