Olympic Medal: Women's Snowboard Slopestyle

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Jamie Anderson of the United States won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in the women's snowboarding slopestyle.

Her performance gave the United States a sweep of the slopestyle gold medals in that event's debut at the Winter Games. American Sage Kotsenburg won the men's version of the competition on Saturday.

Enni Rukajarvi of Finland was awarded the silver and Jenny Jones of Britain took the bronze. It was the first medal of the Sochi Olympics for both Finland and Britain.
