Olympic Medal: Men's Normal Hill Ski Jumping

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Kamil Stoch of Poland won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in normal hill ski jumping.

Stoch finished off a dramatic rise in his sport after finishing 27th in the same event at the 2010 Olympics.

The silver medal went to Peter Prevc of Slovenia and the bronze to Anders Bardel of Norway.

Defending champion Simon Ammann, seeking his third gold medal in four Olympics, finished 17th.
