SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 9 (UPI) --
Dario Cologna of Italy won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in the cross-country, 30-kilometer skiathlon.
The silver was won by Marcus Hellner of Sweden and the bronze went to Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway.
The race consists of two legs, one in which the classical cross-country technique is used and another in which freestyle skiing is employed.
Cologna won the event by .04 of a second over Hellner.
