NHL: Dallas 3, Phoenix 1

GLENDALE, Ariz., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Ryan Garbutt scored a goal and added an assist for Dallas Tuesday in its 3-1 victory on the road over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Garbutt assisted on the decisive goal by Antoine Roussel early in the third period and then knocked an insurance goal into the empty Phoenix net in the closing seconds.

Shawn Horcoff also scored for the Stars, who have won back-to-back games. Kari Lehtonen tallied 27 saves.

Mike Smith allowed two goals on 39 shots for the Coyotes, who had won two of their previous three starts. Antoine Vermette scored the only Phoenix goal on an unassisted backhander that opened the scoring at 9:18 of the second period.
