Guillermo Garcia-Lopez opens with win at Vina del Mar

VINA DEL MAR, Chile, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Seventh-seeded Guillermo Garcia-Lopez notched a comeback victory Monday in opening-round action at the Royal Guard Open Chile tennis tournament.

The Spaniard dropped the first set but then rebounded for 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over German Julian Reister in Day 1 on the clay courts at Vina del Mar.

Also advancing Monday was Argentine Leonardo Mayer, who bested Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer 7-5, 7-5.

His next opponent will be second-seeded Spaniard Tommy Robredo.
