CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 31 (UPI) --
Kari Ramo took a shutout into the third period Thursday and made 29 saves in lifting Calgary to a 4-1 win over San Jose.
The Flames continued their pre-Olympics push by winning their fourth in a row. Despite their streak they remain in front of only Edmonton in the Western Conference.
Calgary delivered the only two goals of the opening 40 minutes -- Lee Stempniak scoring in the first period and Mark Giordano coming through in the second.
The only goal against Ramo came from Eriah Hayes 36 seconds into the third period, but Calgary put the game away with late goals from Sean Monahan and Jiri Hudler.
San Jose endured its third straight loss. Alex Stalock suffered the setback while stopping 25 shots.
