Lynch, who was threatened with a $50,000 fine by the NFL if he didn't participate in pregame interviews before each round of the playoff and Super Bowl XLVIII, talked to reporters for about 6 minutes at the Prudential Center before retreating to a back wall and donning dark glasses, ESPN.com reported.
"He doesn't feel comfortable in settings like this," Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll told the broadcaster. "And he doesn't like to do things he's told to do. Fortunately that hasn't been a factor for our football team."
Lynch, who racked up 1,257 rushing yards on 301 carries with 12 touchdowns in the regular season, later conducted a short interview with NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders for the NFL Network.
When told by Sanders he "looked good," Lynch responded, "(Expletive), you do, too."
Asked if he was camera-shy, the star running back said, "I'm just about that action, boss," adding, "I'm gonna get it. Don't need to talk about it."
