NHL: St. Louis 3, New Jersey 0

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Alexander Steen scored to back Jaroslav Halak's 23-save shutout Tuesday and St. Louis avenged an embarrassing loss to New Jersey with a 3-0 victory.

Steen's score was his 27th of the season and Halak logged his fourth shutout of the campaign.

Maxim Lapierre and Brenden Morrow also scored for the Blues, who notched a third straight win after being routed by the Devils 7-1 last week.

Cory Schneider stopped 22-of-25 shots for New Jersey, which fell to the New York Rangers 7-3 in an outdoor game at Yankee Stadium Sunday in their previous contest.
