SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick posted his third shutout of the season Monday and the Los Angeles Kings broke a five-game losing streak with a 1-0 decision over San Jose.

Quick stopped 23 shots, including 14 in the third period, en route to his third shutout of the season as the Kings also snapped a seven-game skid against the Sharks.

Los Angeles netted the game's only goal in the second period when Jeff Carter's pass was deflected by Brent Burns onto the stick of Anze Kopitar, who guided it past goalie Alex Stalock.

Stalock ended with 20 saves for San Jose, which had its six-game winning streak broken.
