NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Patrick Patterson nailed a go-ahead basket with 6 seconds left in the game Monday, elevating the Toronto Raptors over Brooklyn 104-103.
After Lowry was double-teamed near the top of key, he passed it back to Patterson, who was true from short range.
The Nets held on for the win when Paul Pierce's 3-point try bounced off the rim.
Lowry led Toronto with 31 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals.
Jonas Valanciunas added 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors stretched their lead over second-place Brooklyn to 2 1/2 games.
Pierce fired in seven 3-pointers en route to a season-high 33 points for Brooklyn, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.
Andray Blatche had 20 points in a reserve role.
