NBA: Sacramento 114, New Orleans 97

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay piled up 41 points on 16-of-21 shooting Tuesday and the Sacramento Kings breezed past New Orleans 114-97.

Gay, who tied a career scoring high with the performance, also grabbed eight rebounds and dished off five assists for the Kings, who were coming off two straight road losses.

Isaiah Thomas provided 20 points with 11 assists and DeMarcus Cousins also notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pelicans dropped a ninth in 10 games despite Tyreke Evans' 17 points.

Anthony Davis added 16 and Brian Roberts scored 15 for New Orleans.
