CHICAGO, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Taj Gibson's layup with less than a second remaining in overtime Monday handed the Chicago Bulls a 102-100 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers had knotted the score 100-100 on Nick Young's baseline jumper with 6 seconds left in the extra time.

After Los Angeles' Ryan Kelly knocked the ball out of bounds with 0.9 seconds remaining, the Bulls set up for an inbounds play under the Lakers' basket.

Mike Dunleavy bounced a pass to Gibson, who shook off Manny Harris and used his left hand for a game-winning lay-in over Pau Gasol as the buzzer sounded.

D.J. Augustin scored 27 points and Joakim Noah provided 17, 21 rebounds and six assists for Chicago, which claimed an eighth win in 10 games to reach .500 (20-20).

Young finished with 31 points for Los Angeles, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.

Gasol recorded 20, 19 rebounds and five blocks.
