PHOENIX, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Shane Larkin came through with a career-high 18 points and hit two late free throws Friday to lift Dallas over Phoenix 110-107.

After letting a 17-point lead disappear in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday, the Mavericks held on against the Suns.

Dallas needed the best game of Larkin's rookie season to pull out the victory. Larkin's two free throws with 11 seconds left gave the Mavericks a five-point lead and Dallas survived a turnover by Vince Carter in the closing seconds.

Monta Ellis scored 24 points for the Mavericks and added six rebounds and seven assists. Dirk Nowitzki had 21 points and Shawn Marion had 16.

Goran Dragic was one of five Phoenix players to reach double figures, scoring 28 points.
