CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- First-period goals by Bryan Little and Dustin Byfuglien touched off an offensive outburst Thursday that lifted Winnipeg to a 5-2 victory over Calgary.

Winnipeg has followed five straight losses with back-to-back wins, both of which saw the Jets score five times.

The Jets took a 4-0 lead through two periods, getting goals in the middle stanza from Mark Scheifele and Olli Jokinen.

Ondrej Pavelec had a shutout working until Mark Giordano scored 40 seconds into the third. Pavelec made 20 saves while all five Winnipeg goals came against Reto Berra on 23 shots.
