NBA: Phoenix 121, Los Angeles Lakers 114

PHOENIX, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Gary Green produced a season-high point total for the second time this month Wednesday, leading Phoenix to a 121-114 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles lost its sixth in a row and has dropped 12 of its last 13 games.

The game was spiced by a confrontation between Alex Len of the Suns and Nick Young of the Lakers, both of whom were ejected.

Len earned a flagrant-two foul for hitting Young on the head as Young was driving to the basket. Young reacted by throwing punches at Len.

Phoenix made up a four-point halftime deficit by outscoring the Lakers 34-24 in the third period and went on to snap a three-game losing streak.

Green had 24 points in a win over Milwaukee on Jan. 4 and improved his season-best total to 28 in this game.

Markieff Morris scored 24 points for the Suns and Channing Frye had 20.

Pau Gasol piled up 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Lakers. Wesley Johnson contributed 22.
