ATLANTA, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Denver quarterback Peyton Manning, who set several NFL passing records this season, has been selected the PFWA Most Valuable Player for 2013.

In addition to being the Professional Football Writers of America's MVP, Manning was also selected the Offensive Player of the Year. It is the fourth time he was voted MVP, with the other honors coming in 2004, '08 and '09.

Manning, 37, set records this past season by passing for 5,477 yards and throwing 55 touchdown passes in helping the Broncos to an AFC-best 13-3 record.

Denver plays the New England Patriots Sunday in the AFC Championship Game, with the winner advancing to Super Bowl XLVIII Feb. 2.

St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn, who led the NFC with 19 sacks, was chosen as the PFWA's Defensive Player of the Year.
