NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Rick Nash snapped a tie with 1:58 to go in regulation Friday, giving the New York Rangers a 3-2 victory over Dallas.

The Stars lost their fifth in a row while the Rangers won for the fifth time in seven contests. The last three Dallas losses came by a combined score of 11-5 during a four-day stretch in the New York metropolitan area.

Dallas twice took a one-goal lead, but the Rangers tied it on each occasion on scores from Ryan Callahan and Derick Brassard.

It had been a 2-2 game since midway through the second period when Nash ripped a slap shot past Kari Lehtonen.

Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves to collect the victory. Lehtonen allowed three goals on 34 shots.
