NBA: Dallas 107, New Orleans 90

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki hit four of Dallas' 14 3-pointers Friday and scored 24 points in propelling the Mavericks over New Orleans 107-90.

Dallas took a 19-point lead into the fourth quarter and wound up hitting 52 percent of its field goal tries. The Mavericks went 14-of-20 from beyond the arc.

Monta Ellis added 23 points for Dallas, Vince Carter had 14 and Jae Crowder scored 12. The Mavericks had lost three of their previous four games.

New Orleans has dropped four straight. The Pelicans were led by Eric Gordon with 27 points and Anthony Davis with 21 and 13 rebounds.

The teams will meet again Saturday in Dallas.
