NHL: Minnesota 2, Los Angeles 1 (SO)

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Nino Niederreiter scored the game-tying goal and then added the decisive tally in the shootout to give Minnesota a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Niederreiter scored in the seventh round of the shootout by deking Kings' goaltender Jonathan Quick and extended the Wild's winning streak to three games.

Jason Pominville and Mikael Granlund both had an assist for the Wild. Darcy Kuemper made 39 saves.

Jarret Stoll scored the only goal for the Kings, who have lost six of their last seven games. Quick made 16 saves in the loss.

Stoll scored 50 seconds into the third period. Niederreiter answered at 3:25 by tipping in the tying goal.
