VIRGINIA WATER, England, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Zach Johnson's win at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions lifts him two spots to No. 7 in the men's world golf rankings.

Johnson shot a final round of 7-under-par 66 and edged Jordan Spieth by one stroke for the title. Johnson was 9-under par 273 for the tournament. Webb Simpson and Kevin Streelman tied for third at 17-under and Jason Dufner took fifth.

It was the 11th PGA win for Johnson and moves him from ninth to seventh in the world rankings. That pushes Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker both down one place to eight and ninth, respectively.

Spieth moves up five places to No. 17 while Simpson inches up one place to 20th and Streelman goes from 44th to No. 36.

Tiger Woods continues to have a tight hold on the No. 1 ranking, a position he's held for the last 42 weeks and 665 weeks overall. Greg Norman is second on the all-time list for weeks at No. 1 at 331 weeks. No other player has held the top spot for more than 97 weeks.

The PGA is back in action this week with the Sony Open in Hawaii while the European Tour ends a month-long layoff with the Volvo Golf Champions event in South Africa.
