NBA: Indiana 86, Toronto 79

Jan. 7, 2014 at 10:12 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Roy Hibbert scored 22 points Tuesday and the Indiana Pacers clamped down on defense to stifle Toronto 86-79 for an eighth win in nine games.

Lance Stephenson provided 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for Indiana, which held the Raptors to 37 percent shooting from the field and drained 21-of-26 free throws.

Hibbert connected on 12-of-13 foul shots, offsetting a rare poor outing from star forward Paul George, who was held to 11 points.

DeMar DeRozan put in 28 points and Patrick Patterson scored 20 in a reserve role for Toronto, which dropped a second straight following a five-game win streak.
