CHENNAI, India, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka will go against Edouard Roger-Vasselin, the No. 7 seed, in the finals of the Aircel Chennai Open, an ATP stop in India.

Roger-Vasselin earned his second ATP finals appearance with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 decision Saturday over sixth-seeded Marcel Granollers. Roger-Vasselin grabbed the first set without facing a break point and then had a pair of breaks in the third set in moving into the final.

Wawrinka advanced over fifth-seeded Vasek Pospisil. Wawrinka fought off six break points and ended up with the only break of the first set. He was up an early break in the second set but Pospisil, who was 1-of-10 in break opportunities, evened the set. However, two games later at 5-5, Pospisil was injured and unable to continue.

Wawrinka is 4-9 in previous finals. He was 1-3 in championship matches last year as he reached the Top 10 for the first time.

Roger-Vasselin's only other ATP title match was last March when he dropped a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 decision to Ernests Gulbis at Delray Beach, Fla.

Wawrinka and Roger-Vasselin split their first two career meetings. Wawrinka claimed a three-set win in the second round at Chennai in 2012. Roger-Vasselin beat Wawrinka in straight sets in a first-round match in Switzerland last year.
