NHL: St. Louis 6, Columbus 2

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Patrik Berglund scored twice for St. Louis Saturday and the Blues stayed tough to beat at home with a 6-2 thrashing of Columbus.

Maxim Lapierre, Jaden Schwartz, Vladimir Sobotka and Alex Pietrangelo also scored for the Blues, who ran their home-ice record to 17-3-2 and won a fifth straight overall.

Brian Elliott was solid in goal, turning away 22-of-24 shots.

Mark Letestu and Artem Anisimov got the Blue Jackets' goals.

Curtis McElhinney made 31 saves.
