NBA: Los Angeles Clippers 112, Charlotte 85

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Blake Griffin paced Los Angeles to an overwhelming second half Wednesday, bringing the Clippers a 112-85 rout of Charlotte.

Griffin continued his recent run of large point totals, having established a season high two games ago with 40 points against Utah. He came into the game tied for 11th on the NBA's scoring list.

The game was deadlocked at the half, but Los Angeles took control by limiting the Bobcats to 13 points in the third period.

Griffin made 14-of-20 from the field and claimed 12 rebounds. Jared Dudley had 20 points for the Clippers and Chris Paul 17 points and 14 assists.

Charlotte, which has lost four straight and has stops left in Portland and Sacramento on its five-game road trip, was led by 14 points each from Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker.
