NBA: Philadelphia 114, Denver 102

DENVER, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Evan Turner scored the final five points of a 44-point second quarter Wednesday that ignited Philadelphia to a 114-102 win over Denver.

The 76ers have won two in a row after losing nine out of 10. It was only their 10th victory of the season and just their third on the road.

There were seven Philadelphia players, including all the starters, in double figure scoring and seven different players produced at least two points during the big second quarter.

Philadelphia led by 14 to start the closing period and went on to hand the Nuggets their eighth consecutive defeat.

Turner scored 25 points along with five rebounds and six assists. Thaddeus Young had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Michael Carter-Williams added 16 points, nine boards and six assists.

JJ Hickson scored 19 points for the Nuggets, who were five games over the .500 mark when their current losing streak began.
