NAPLES, Fla., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving Saturday in Florida, police said.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Greg Bueno told the Los Angeles Times the star slugger was pulled over Saturday after allegedly driving 110 mph on a stretch of Interstate 75 near Naples, Fla.

Bueno said Puig was arrested along Florida's "Alligator Alley" at 9:30 a.m. and booked into Collier County Jail, adding the 23-year-old was cooperative while being charged.

Puig was later released on a $500 "self cash bond," a jailer told the Naples Daily News.

The Dodgers didn't immediately have a comment.

Puig, who finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting this past season, was also arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving and driving without proof of insurance in Chattanooga, Tenn., in April.

Those charges were later dismissed.
