NHL: San Jose 4, St. Louis 2

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Martin Havlat and Matt Irwin each recorded a goal and an assist Tuesday and the San Jose Sharks bested St. Louis for a third time this season, 4-2.

Brent Burns and Joe Pavelski also scored as the Sharks completed a season sweep of the Blues, during which they outscored them 16-7.

Justin Braun and Patrick Marleau helped out with two assists each.

Antti Niemi stopped 20-of-22 shots as San Jose improved to just 2-4-1 in its last seven games overall.

Jay Bouwmeester and Kevin Shattenkirk scored for St. Louis.

Jaroslav Halak made 23 saves.
