PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Jakub Voracek scored twice Tuesday and the Philadelphia Flyers earned a split of a home-and-home series against Washington with a 5-2 victory.

Matt Read added a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who avenged a late collapse and shootout loss to the Capitals Sunday.

Mark Streit and Wayne Simmonds also scored as Philadelphia notched just a second win in six games.

Steve Mason got the decision with 24 saves.

Alex Ovechkin recorded his NHL-best 28th goal of the season and Eric Fehr also scored for Washington.

Braden Holtby stopped 30-of-35 shots.
