Matt Kuchar, Harris English breeze to Franklin Templeton victory

NAPLES, Fla., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The team of Matt Kuchar and Harris English breezed to a victory at the Franklin Templeton shootout Sunday, firing a 14-under 58 to win by seven strokes.

The pair entered the final round with a four-shot advantage after taking control in Saturday's better-ball format. In Sunday's scramble, the duo recorded their 12 birdies and notched an eagle at the par-5 17th.

They finished at 34-under 182 -- matching the record low score in the event.

Claiming second at minus-27 were Retief Goosen and Freddie Jacobson, who carded a combined 61 on Tiburon Golf Club's Gold Course.

Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood recorded a 59 to grab sole possession of third one shot further back.

Billy Horschel and Chris DiMarco (60) took fourth at 24-under, followed by defending champions Kenny Perry and Sean O'Hair (60) at 23-under.
