SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 13 (UPI) -- The San Jose Sharks defeated the Minnesota Wild 3-1 Thursday at SAP Center thanks in part to two power-play goals from Joe Pavelski.
Antti Niemi made 29 saves in helping San Jose break a four-game losing streak.

Jonas Brodin got credit for the Wild's sole goal, which came off Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart's chest with 7:24 left in regulation.
Tomas Hertl scored the eventual game-winner -- his 15th goal of the season -- with 5:17 remaining in the first period.
Niklas Backstrom allowed three goals on 39 shots, including a Pavelski one-timer 5:54 into the game.
The Sharks are now 11-1-3 at home.
