Detroit fought off a Brooklyn comeback in the fourth period, during which the Nets outscored the Pistons by 14 points. Brooklyn pulled within two when Paul Pierce hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining, but Singler came through at the foul line to clinch the win.
Rodney Stuckey added 17 points and Singler had 16. Detroit had climbed to the .500 mark before suffering its three straight losses.
Deron Williams scored 22 points for the Nets and Andray Blatche had 20.
