LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Los Angeles police said they arrested a man accused of pranking at least a dozen NFL and NBA coaches into believing he was offering them contracts.
Kenneth Edward Tarr, 32, of Hollywood was arrested Monday and charged with felony eavesdropping for allegedly recording phone conversations he had with those he allegedly pranked, ABC News reported.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Tarr was being held on $20,000 bail.
"Such eavesdropping is a felony and the investigation is ongoing. We want to see if there are additional victims," LAPD Officer Sally Madera told KABC-TV, Los Angeles.
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy was one of Tarr's victims, ABC News said.
Tarr allegedly contacted Dungy pretending to be a representative of the University of Southern California, and offered him one of the school's coaching vacancies.
Tarr told ABC News his pranks made him more talented than the late comic performer Andy Kaufman or any comedian working today. He said it was his way of getting his art out into the world.
Tarr told ABC his victims also included the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA and the network said the Village Voice reported in June that Tarr said he pranked his way onto "The Ricki Lake Show" and the "Judge Judy" show.
