LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom was sentenced to three years of probation Monday after pleading no contest to driving under the influence.

Odom, 34, was also ordered to participate in an alcohol treatment program for three months and pay $1,814 in penalties and fines, KCAL-TV, Los Angeles, reported.

The 14-year NBA veteran was arrested Aug. 30 after he allegedly drove his Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle at about 50 miles per hour on the 101 Freeway in a "serpentine manner" and showed "objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated," California Highway Patrol reports indicate.

Odom's wife, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, kicked him out of their house in August, celebrity website TMZ reported in September.
