NHL: Florida 5, Winnipeg 2

SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Dylan Olsen put Florida in front with the second of its four consecutive goals Thursday and the Panthers went on to defeat Winnipeg 5-2.

Florida had lost three in a row, but enjoyed a rare offensive surge after coming into the game with the second fewest goals in the NHL.

Andrew Ladd gave the Jets the lead early in the opening period, but Erik Gudbranson tied it with 5:58 to go in the first.

The Panthers then stormed in front in the second on goals by Olsen and Tomas Fleischmann, after which Nick Bjugstad gave Florida a 4-1 lead 5:37 into the third.

Tim Thomas picked up the win by making 29 saves. Ondrej Pavelec surrendered all five Florida goals on 26 shots.
