Sanders fired from charter school he helped found

DALLAS, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Former Dallas Cowboys great Deion Sanders was fired by administrators at the Texas charter school he helped found in a scene he described as "total chaos."

Sanders helped start Prime Prep Academy in Dallas with D.L. Wallace, the school's former chief executive officer and director who was himself let go earlier this month after questions were raised about rent payments made with school funds, WFAA-TV, Dallas, reported Wednesday.

In the fallout, Sanders said he's had disagreements from administrators loyal to Wallace. Sanders was already fired from his position at the school once after he was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with an employee but was rehired the next day, the report said.

After Sanders was told to get off school property some 75 students staged a walkout on the Hall of Fame cornerback known as Prime Time's behalf, the report said. The students eventually returned to school at Sanders' urging.

"This is nonsense. We are sick of it," Sanders said. "The kids don't deserve it. Overpaid, underqualified administrators never worked in a school in their life. Total chaos. We have a formula to restore what was the dream at Prime Prep."

Sanders said he hopes to be reinstated at a school board meeting scheduled for Friday.
