NBA: Dallas 89, Charlotte 82

DALLAS, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 24 points and Monta Ellis was right behind with 22 in the Dallas Mavericks' 89-82 win over the visiting Charlotte Bobcats Tuesday.

Dallas outscored the Bobcats 29-15 in the fourth quarter to break open what had been a fairly tight game and extend its record at home against the Bobcats to 10-0.

Nowitzki hit 10-of-21 field goals and had only three of the Mavericks' 45 rebounds. Jose Calderon added 12 points to the Dallas attack and veteran Vince Carter tallied 10 off the bench.

Al Jefferson scored 19 for Charlotte and also grabbed a dozen rebounds. He was the first Bobcat to score three consecutive double-doubles since Gerald Wallace in 2011.

Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson both scored 16 for the Bobcats, who were just 3-for-17 from 3-point range, while Dallas hit 15-of-17 free throws.
