Nets' Paul Pierce could be out four weeks

NEW YORK, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Brooklyn forward Paul Pierce will miss up to four weeks of playing time because of a fractured finger on his right hand, the NBA's Nets said Monday.

Pierce, 36, suffered a non-displaced fracture of the middle finger on his right hand during Friday's game against Houston. He missed a game Saturday against Memphis and Monday the team said Pierce would be out another 2-4 weeks.

Pierce is a 10-time all-star selection over 15 previous NBA seasons, all with the Boston Celtics. In his first season with Brooklyn, Pierce is averaging 12.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He has averaged 21.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists over his 1,117-game career.
