Miami's Jonathan Martin to sit out rest of NFL season

MIAMI, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins have changed the status of controversial rookie tackle Jonathan Martin so that he will not play again this season.

Martin, who left the Dolphins after raising allegations he was unduly abused by teammates, was moved to the "reserve/non-football illness" list as of Saturday, which makes him ineligible to play for the remainder of the season, CNN reported.

Martin's attorney has said Dolphins players led by guard Richie Incognito subjected Martin to taunting and sometimes physical abuse with racial overtones. The situation led Martin to leave the team. Incognito was suspended earlier in the season.
