LAKE LOUISE, Alberta, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Norwegian veteran Aksel Lund Svindal won another men's World Cup super-giant slalom at Lake Louise, Canada, Sunday.

It was the fifth time Svindal has won the Lake Louise super-G and extended his winning streak in the event to four races extending back to last season.

"Lake Louise has been very kind to me in the past," Svindal said. "And the best part is knowing that in the years you are fast in Lake Louise, you know that you will have fast skis for the rest of the season."

Svindal finished the event in 1 minute, 28.53 seconds. Austrian Matthias Mayer was 0.24 seconds behind and Georg Streitberger was 0.38 seconds slower than Svindal.

Travis Ganong was the top U.S. finisher with a 22nd place and a time of 1:30.25. Fellow American Bode Miller took 23rd with a 1:30.27.
