NHL: New Jersey 1, Buffalo 0 (OT)

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Steve Bernier scored with 40 seconds remaining in overtime and Cory Schneider logged a shutout Saturday in New Jersey's 1-0 win over Buffalo.

With time winding down in the extra frame, Bernier broke into the Buffalo zone on a 2-on-2 rush, skated into the left circle and used a Sabres defender as a screen in snapping a shot over the shoulder of goalie Jhonas Enroth.

Schneider stopped all 15 shots he faced in recording his second shutout of the season for New Jersey, which won a second straight following a three-game skid.

Enroth turned aside 23-of-24 shots as the Sabres lost for the sixth time in seven contests.
