SHUSHENSKOYE, Russia, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Organizers said that the Olympic flame visited a Siberian dam where an accident killed 75 people as part of the torch's tour for the Winter Games in Sochi.

The torch visited the dam Wednesday, the Russian sports news agency R-Sport reported.

A turbine broke at the Sayano-Shushenskaya dam in 2009, which caused flooding in the interior of the structure. The dam has now been partially repaired, R-Sport said.

The torch ended the day Wednesday in the near the border with Mongolia.

The torch relay started at Moscow's Red Square Oct. 7, and it is set to travel more than 40,000 miles before the games start in February.
