DETROIT, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- A three-assist game from Johan Franzen keyed a dominating Detroit performance Wednesday that gave the Red Wings a 6-1 win over Boston.

Detroit scored three times in the second period and Jonas Gustavsson held Boston without a goal until just 2:25 remained in the contest.

Justin Abdelkader scored the only first-period goal and the Red Wings then broke things open in the second on tallies by Tomas Tatar, Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall.

Gustavsson had to make just 16 saves to win for the sixth time in seven decisions.

All six goals were given up by Tuukka Rask on 28 shots. Boston had won four of its previous five games.
