NHL: Detroit 4, Carolina 3

DETROIT, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Henrik Zetterberg paced Detroit with a goal and two assists Thursday and the Red Wings snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over Carolina.

Gustav Nyquist added two goals and Darren Helm also scored as the Wings ended their longest skid since 1991.

Jonas Gustavsson stopped 24 shots for Detroit, which also broke an eight-game losing streak at Joe Lewis Arena -- their longest slide on home ice since 1986.

Andrej Sekera netted a pair of goals and Brett Bellemore also scored for the Hurricanes, who dropped a third straight.

Justin Peters turned aside 43-of-47 shots.
