NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was slapped with a one-game suspension Tuesday after kicking Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul in the face.

The NBA announced Allen would be forced to sit out Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors in connection with the incident during Monday's victory against the Clippers in Los Angeles.

The Memphis guard was ejected in the first quarter after officials ruled he intentionally struck Paul in the face with his shin while jumping to defend a pass.
