NFL: Oakland 28, Houston 23

Nov. 17, 2013 at 5:28 PM

HOUSTON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Matt McGloin celebrated his first NFL start with three touchdown passes Sunday and the Oakland Raiders made a late goal-line stand to hold off Houston 28-23.

McGloin, starting in place of the injured Terrelle Pryor, completed 18-of-32 passes for 197 yards.

Rashad Jennings reeled off a 80-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to finish with 150 rushing yards. His play gave the Raiders a 28-17 lead.

But Oakland (4-6) had to hang on down the stretch after Matt Schaub replaced an ineffective Case Keenum in the fourth quarter and led the Texans (2-8) to a pair of field goals from Randy Bullock.

Houston moved to the Raiders' 2-yard line in the closing seconds, but a holding penalty and Schaub's incomplete pass on fourth-and-7 sealed the Texans' loss.
