SOCHI, Russia, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Open casting is being held in Russia for the 113 young women who will help present the medals at the Winter Olympics, officials said.

A spokeswoman for the Sochi Volunteers Center told R-Sport there will be more than 100 medal presentations during the games, each accompanied by bouquets of flowers as well.

"It is a unique opportunity to genuinely be in the very center of the Games and see all the finals and all the winners with your own eyes," said Kristina Lichman, casting coordinator for the Sochi Volunteers Center.

Women between the ages of 17 and 35 were welcome to apply, as long as they stand at least 5-foot-5. Those who are selected will undergo hair and makeup styling starting Jan. 25. The opening ceremony for the games takes place Feb. 7.
