Blake Comeau put the Blue Jackets in front midway through the first period, but goals by Loui Eriksson and Shawn Thornton boosted Boston in front at the midway point of the second.

Nick Foligno scored on a backhander with 3:26 to go in the middle period to bring about a 2-2 tie and that was the way it stayed through regulation.

Johnson made only his third appearance in goal this season and boosted his record to 2-1. Sergei Bobrovsky allowed the three Boston goals on 31 shots.
