MLS: Real Salt Lake 4, Portland 2

SANDY, Utah, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Javier Morales supplied a goal and two assists Sunday and Real Salt Lake bounced Portland 4-2 for a commanding lead in their Western Conference playoff series.

Robbie Findley added a goal and an assist, while Chris Schuler and Devon Sandoval also scored for Salt Lake, which dominated the first leg of their total-goals conference finals series.

The Timbers return to Portland for the Nov. 24 second leg having to win by three goals to advance to the MLS Cup championship game

Will Johnson and Frederic Piquionne each scored for Portland.
