NHL: Philadelphia 4, Edmonton 2

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Claude Giroux and Vincent Lecavalier each scored a third-period goal Saturday and the Philadelphia Flyers held off Edmonton 4-2.

The Flyers were clinging to a 2-1 lead with 8:34 remaining in the final period when Giroux netted his first goal of the season with a wrist shot from the left circle during a 2-on-1 break.

The Oilers' Taylor Hall scored 2 minutes later to cut Philadelphia's lead back to one goal, but Lecavalier's snap shot with 3:27 left iced it for the Flyers, who won for the second time in six games.

Scott Hartnell and Jay Rosehill also scored. Steve Mason made 24 saves for Philadelphia.

David Perron scored and Devan Dubnyk made 30 stops for the Oilers, who fell for the seventh time in eight contests.
